Coach Wilson Salazar, Jr. was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He began playing tennis at the age of four, when his father, Wilson Salazar , Sr. started to coach him. Through the years, his father has been able to develop Wilson into a very high level and experienced player, accumulating thousands of points in the United States Tennis Association junior rankings, playing in several cities all across Texas, including Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas to name a few.
He has won several tournaments throughout his career, and was able to win several awards in his high school career as well. Wilson placed third in districts his sophomore year and 2nd team boys singles all district for his undefeated record during that season.
Coach Wilson continues to play a high level of tennis that has allowed him to play the collegiate level of tennis at the University of St. Thomas here in Houston.
In 2021 and 2022, Wilson was one of the lead head coaches at Katy ISD's tennis summer camp, where he taught and helped out dozens of children, teens, and adults further and improve their tennis game. During summer of 2022, he began teaching privately and to numerous students, all ages year round. Coach Wilson's experience and credibility as a high level junior player has helped him use that knowledge to his advantage and implement and teach all of his students the best ways to improve, both physically and mentally.
